Peripheral IV Cannulation and Venepuncture e-learning

Learn the theory to insert, care for and remove peripheral intravenous cannulae and take venous blood samples safely.

Who it’s for: Registered nurses, midwives, nursing associates and other healthcare professionals whose role includes, or will include, peripheral vascular access. Check that your employer’s policy permits you to perform these skills once competent.

Format: eLearning (1.5 CPD hours) with a final assessment (80% pass mark), followed by classroom practice (can be booked with us once e-learning completed), and a workplace competency record.

Important: This course supports, but does not replace, your employer’s competency process. You are competent to practise independently only once your competency record has been signed off by an approved assessor in your workplace.
